Discussion: The Bar Council and Refugee Tales

The Bar Council and Refugee Tales are hosting an evening to discuss issues raised by indefinite detention and the Rule of Law.

The evening will begin with a reading of ‘The Student’s Tale’ by Helen MacDonald, a story of the realities of indefinite detention to be read by acclaimed actress Niamh Cusack.  Followed by a discussion led by Andrew Langdon QC, Chair of the Bar and Professor David Herd, co-organiser of Refugee Tales.  Drinks Reception in the Round afterwards.  RSVP

Reconciliation in an Age of Revenge

The Bereaved Families Forum is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organisation made up of more than 600 bereaved families. Their common bond is that they have lost a close family member to the conflict. Instead of choosing revenge, they have chosen a path of reconciliation.  Israeli member Robi Damelin and Palestinian member Mazen Faraj, share their stories of loss and their choice of reconciliation. Followed by refreshments in the Round.  This event is sponsored by Goldsmith Chambers.
